2 lb ground beef or lamb (I use 1/2 & 1/2)
1.5 C rice
1 Tbs salt
1 Tbs pepper
2 Tbs dried mint
2 Tbs allspice
Juice of one lemon
50 fresh grape leaves or 1 large jar if using store bought
Rinse grapeleaves + remove stems with scissors. For fresh grapeleaves, blanch until leaves turn brownish and limp. Mix meat mixture. Roll grapeleaves, and layer in a large roasting pan (cooks most evenly if you can do in one layer). Cover with foil or lid. Bake at 350 for 1.5 hours. Remove foil for last 30 minutes. Serve with yogurt or labne and Syrian bread 🤌🏼 and you have just experienced Lebanese stuffed grape leaves. What do you think?
